snarklyboojumOh my god, I love youtube. You'll never guess what I found there tonight. Mom and I watch this every Christmas we can find the old vhs tape, and I was a little bummed this year because our vcr finally broke down. *ahem*
Before the Muppets brought Ebenezer down a peg, even before John Lithgow suckered poor Patch into making magic candy, this, my friends, this was the best Christmas special EVER. That's right. Charlie Brown and Linus can kiss my pasty white bum.
I present: A Claymation Christmas Carol, thanks to the crazy people at youtube! Selected clips behind the cut, including harmonic camels, ice skating penguins, and the California Raisins.
"We Three Kings" - Holy hells is this ever a good clip and my favorite part of the entire show. This is why you always see camels in the manger, children. *dances*
"The Carol of the Bells" - Don't judge! It's not his fault he's stupid and easily distracted. We've all felt that way a time or two, hmm? Plus, as a little extra fun, Herb and Rex's introduction to the piece. These two were the hosts, and spent the entire time arguing about whether or not it was "wassail" or "waffle".
"Ice-Dancing Walruses" - With the olympics fever finally over and done with, how can you not love these two? Plus, penguins!
"Oh Christmas Tree" - Really sweet, and I always liked to sit and look at my tree for a long time after watching this one. Plus - exhausted Santa? One of my favorites.
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" - Ahh, yes. God love those wrinkly little guys.
