The Precision of The Fall - MASTERPOST

Fic title: The Precision of The Fall
Author name: [livejournal.com profile] behindblue_eyes
Artist name: [livejournal.com profile] daggomus_prime
Pairing: Dean/Castiel, Sam/ Ruby, Sam/Jessica
Rating: R for bad language and reference to sexual situations (And I mean bad language.)
Word count: 36,850
Warnings: alcohol abuse, driving under the influence, latent PTSD, circus animals coming to a bad end (though no animal abuse), cross-dressing, and Michael being a douche.
Summary: They used to be called The Family Winchester. People came from miles around to see their act, knowing their names and faces before the circus even rolled into town. Life was shiny with salt and sawdust, sequins and smiles. Now, all that was left were a few crumpled posters, an empty bunk next to Dean's, and the leather-gripped knives hidden in the trick pockets of his vest.
Special Notes: I don’t know how to do anything mentioned in this story, let alone ride a motorcycle, throw a knife, or fly on the trapeze. All knowledge is gained from the internet. If anyone reading this does know how to do those things and is aware I got anything wrong, you are awesome and please don’t send the clowns after me.
Special Thanks: To [livejournal.com profile] daggomus_prime, my brain twin, for her patience and utterly breathtaking artwork. I couldn’t have done it without you. Also to [livejournal.com profile] knoifey_spoony for encouragement and the title suggestion.

I've heard really wonderful things about this! Are you planning on offering a pdf or something we can load into an e-reader?

I've uploaded two versions to Google Docs, one with art and one without. You should be able to download it now, but let me know if you have any problems with the format.

Enjoy!

I'm doing an art for a circus au too in this round, so I can't wait to read this story!
Downloaded, and thanks for the pdf!

It's the year of the circus fic! Maybe we'll get our own tag out of this. XD

Hope you like it!

This was just stunning. Absolutely beautiful. When I saw the premise, I was pretty skeptical (because, after all, not many people think of the circus when they think of Supernatural), but you totally blew me away. The moment I started reading, it seemed completely plausible; everything just FIT. So, I just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful story (and thanks to Dags for the beautiful art!), and I'm so glad that I read it. Beautiful, wonderful, perfect job.

I admit, circus AU is not a phrase one enters into lightly in this fandom. I thought about it a looong time before I actually started writing.

Thanks for reading!

I've just completed reading.. It's really a great piece of work!! You captured personalities of characters with such an amazing skill. Especially Dean's (of course) and Bobby's, but Ruby's as well. The story cought my attention and didn't let go to the very last words:>
I want to read it once again to fully grasp it and to appreciate it more...

Looks awesome! Can't wait to read ... cannot seem to download the pdf, though. It appears on googledocs but I don't see a way to dl it? Help?

[identity profile] behindblue-eyes.livejournal.com 2012-07-06 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
There should be a download option under "file" in the main menu. If you can't find it let me know and I'll upload it special for you later.

Oh my god. This is. At first I wasn't sure if this would be my type of story, circus and all since a lot of them fall short. (There's only been one other in the kh fandom that I've enjoyed as immensely as this.) It was so believable, I got complete pulled into the story. I love love love Dean's character and all the paralleled to how things actually happened. Like, it made sense. I am just praying and keeping my fingers crossed that maybe some day the muse will strike you again and you'll do cut ins of stuff that happened between or expand more on Dean and Cas finally getting over stuff and just oh. <3 Beautiful story.
