I have RL stuff to talk about, but don't really feel like delving into it at the moment so back to what you've come to expect: a meme! This one from ignited.

INTERESTS

1) bareassgnome revolution

Oh, man. jacklemmon, you wanna handle this one? ;)
Basically this interest came about because no one ever told me what the "less than three" symbol meant in netspeak, so when I looked at <3 I didn't see hearts or love, but a little naked gnome wearing a pointy hat. A lot like David the Gnome except, you know, bare-ass. Bonster explained to me in a chat one day, and for a brief shining moment the bareassgnomes ran rampant throughout lj, threatening to bring down the patriarchal establishment and raise up their mouse overlords instead. Just remember, when someone says they bareassgnome you, it's a compliment. :)

2) gunslingers with stubble

Oooh, baby. I love a good western, so I was originally just going to list "gunslinger" instead. But it occurred to me that what I really liked were certain types of characters, the "dangerous men" with a bad past and fast hands, broken boots and holsters tied to their legs. The men with The Walk and the Hundred Yard Stare. The Clint Eastwood's, Roland Deschain's, Cort's, and Saint of Killers of the genre. And the one thing they all have in common? Stubble. That raspy, husky, dirty stubble that leaks down into their throats and warps their voice into something oh so nasty. Mmm. Like I said: I love a good western.

3) spontaneous violent love

Sometimes I just feel restless, and without thinking punch or poke the person next to me. It just sort of happens, although it's normally not a very hard hit. The girls at the dorm called it peoplebowling. A few years ago I was watching the LotR behind the scenes dvds and Elijah Wood was describing how Viggo Mortensen would say something sweet to the stunties, and then headbutt the hell out of them. He called it "spontaneous violent love" and I grabbed onto the phrase as an explanation for the random pokes and prods people around me tend to suffer.

*snicker* I actually made a short fan vid because of this icon, I kid you not. The lyrics are from Tenacious D's Tribute and probably doesn't make a lot of sense unless you've heard it. The caps are from Buffy, and the similarities were too great not to compare. :)

This is Remus from PoA, during the transformation scene. I've always had a thing for werewolves, ever since my dad showed me Frankenstein Meets Wolfman and poor Larry Talbot transformed in his hospital bed. In elementary school I used to use the "even a man who's pure at heart" line in hangman (which is truly kickass and hard to guess, so there). Remus is my favorite HP character, though I think I like him in fanfiction better than in actual canon, probably because he's not really examined too in-depth. The line is from "Sister Janet" by Tori Amos.

A Softer World hosts three panel comics that are often subtle and poignant or just plain funny. I saw this icon by justthreemiles (now found at ourcarradio) before I saw the actual comic, and "your glasses and your shoes" just followed that sentence naturally in my mind. Because when all you have a casual acquaintances, there's certain things you never see. Apparently the actual title is Wings but I forget the context of that now.
