Pirate Day turned out to be quite fun and entertaining, though I didn't see half the events we had planned. They made us wear piratical headgear, but I got there early enough to snag one of the cool ones.

After playing with petting the sharks (where I greeted the tank with a loud and hearty "Avast, my bitches!") I went straight to the lorikeet aviary and let me tell you, if you're going to celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day, then that's the way to do it. I spent all day making Mr. Cotton references, and putting birds on people's shoulders and making them be all pirate-y. The birds were being very good - flocking all over people, eating nectar, trying to escape - so that made it all very awesome.

And then I got to leave three hours early. Huzzah!
